Hi, Iām Valerie.
Life can be challenging, overwhelming and messy. I am here to listen without judgement, provide a safe space and challenge where necessary to facilitate change. I honor and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual. I believe each person has the capacity for growth and each individual possesses inherent strengths that can be uncovered and developed to address challenges and become the best version of themselves.
My focus is holistic, combining all aspects of our humanity to include mind, body and soul. My approach is person centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, psychodynamic and eclectic to best serve your individual needs. I specialize in working with women and teen issues, anxiety and depression, relational issues, grief, transitions and am LBGTQ affirming. I am Gottman Level 2 trained for working with couples and have a background and heart for working with the special needs of military families. I have lived with my family in England, Japan, Panama, Alaska and a few other places in between and finally settled in Ohio. I love to travel, to stay curious, to run slowly and sit on the porch with my beloved rescue dog.
