Hi, I’m April.

I believe we are all a work in progress. We all deserve space, grace, and support to grow, heal, and become the best versions of ourselves. It is an honor to walk alongside those who embrace the possibility of change and commit to their own growth.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I am Gottman Level 1 certified and a SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) certified facilitator. My therapeutic approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I am also LGBTQ affirming and committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all clients.

Along with my clinical training, I have a background in healthcare and lived experience in a military and blended family. These perspectives deepen my understanding of resilience, transition, and the complexities of family life. They also shape the support I offer to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My focus includes concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity, self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationship and communication challenges, family dynamics, and life transitions.

My goal is to meet you where you are in your life with authentic warmth, empathy, and collaboration. Together we can explore your strengths, overcome challenges, and move toward a more connected, balanced, and fulfilling life.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy time with my family, traveling, hiking, and cooking.
