Hi, I’m Katie.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist intern. I have worked with children and families in a variety of contexts over the past two decades, and I have a blended family of my own with three children and my husband in rural Ohio. I am from Cincinnati and studied Psychology at Ohio State. I have a Master’s in Child Clinical Psychology from Loyola University. I am now finishing up a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I love working with children and teens, their parents, and extended family. I have previously worked in school psychology, neuropsychology and testing, early childhood education, nature-based counseling, outdoor education and teambuilding, and pediatric psychology (children with chronic illnesses).

I welcome families who may be struggling with a child with difficult behaviors, attention problems, anxiety or depression, developmental disabilities, learning or school related difficulties, a chronic illness, or general adjustment problems. I also welcome families who may be going through a separation, divorce, or remarriage, as well as those that just have questions about their child’s confusing behavior. I strive to navigate these common life difficulties without blame or shame, to help parents keep an open mind, and to work from a holistic, whole-person approach.

I also enjoy working with adult individuals. I welcome those who may be going through a life transition, have relational or attachment questions, or need a safe space to get curious about their life. I often work through a systemic lens, meaning I like to explore one’s inner life as well as outer environmental factors in therapy. I incorporate internal family systems, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy work into my practice, and I see my job as a partnership with the side of each person that is aiming up toward the best version of themselves.
