Hi, I’m Miranda.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee completing my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Before beginning my graduate training, I worked in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), where I gained experience working closely with children and their families. I have always felt called to do work that makes a positive impact in my community, and I believe that supporting the individuals, couples, and families within my community is one of the most meaningful ways I can do that. I am excited to work with individuals, couples, families, and children and look forward to working with people from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. I find myself particularly pulled to working with children and parents, relationships and family dynamics, life transitions, parenting, women’s issues, and military families.
My approach to therapy is warm, calm, and straightforward. I want clients to feel comfortable being honest about what is going on in their lives without the worry of judgment. I also believe that there is room for humor in the therapeutic setting and that having a genuine connection with your therapist matters.
Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you have never done it before. I want clients to know that coming to therapy does not mean there is something wrong with you or your family. Sometimes it is simply helpful to have a place to work through a difficult season, better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, or make changes that help life feel a little more manageable.
Most importantly, I see therapy as something I do with my clients. I am not there to tell someone how they should live their life, but to listen, understand, and work alongside them. I hope to create a space where clients feel supported as they explore what isworking, what is not, and what they would like to be different.
